Stylist Spotlight
Monique Martin
Color Edge & Dayglow Educator
Monique Martin has done thousands of haircuts and color services, and yet every one still feels like a fresh canvas. That's what 18 years of genuine passion looks like. Color, precision cutting, and curly hair are her sweet spots, and she's built a loyal following by helping clients feel like the most confident version of themselves.
Along the way, she found her calling educating other beauty professionals. Her philosophy is simple: hair trends are constantly evolving, and the hairdressers who stay curious are the ones who thrive.

Hair is always evolving, and our industry is constantly changing, so we have to stay curious, keep learning, and stay in the know.
The Curl Conversation
Embrace the texture.
Social media has turned texture into a movement. Wash day routines, product selection, and curl-defining techniques are just some of the things clients ask about, and hairdressers should know how to respond.
A curly girl herself, Monique understands the journey from the inside and encourages her clients to embrace their texture. Teaching her peers to do the same is where she shines.
Her approach
-
Cut for the curl
Shape the haircut around how each curl naturally falls.
-
Respect the natural pattern
Work with the client's texture instead of against it.
-
Keep it easy at home
Results clients can recreate on their own wash day.
In Her Words
Get to Know Monique
You're a big advocate for continuing education. Why?
Because it's the key to success. Without constantly learning new techniques, trends, and ways of working, it's easy to become stagnant in this industry. Hair is always evolving, and our industry is constantly changing, so we have to stay curious, keep learning, and stay in the know.
How do you channel your creativity when you aren't behind the chair?
I love being behind the camera, creating photoshoots, developing concepts, and bringing the vision I have in my head to life. Whether I'm creating behind the scenes, styling hair, or collaborating on a creative project, I love turning ideas into something tangible.
What does a day off actually look like for you?
A day off for me is really about being home with my family. I'm usually with my twin boys, helping them with schoolwork, taking them to school, and driving them to all of their activities. Mom life keeps me busy! When I have a little extra time to myself, I love discovering new coffee shops, trying new restaurants, and finding new places to explore with my family.
